On October 5th, the Wyoming County EDA hosted its annual Bingo fundraiser at Pineville Elementary School, bringing together community members for a night of fun and philanthropy. The event raised over $5,000 to support scholarships and grants through the Wyoming County Community Fund, an essential resource dedicated to improving the quality of life in Wyoming County.
The Wyoming County Community Fund was established to empower local organizations and initiatives that make a positive impact in the area. From awarding scholarships to bright young minds to funding projects that enhance community spaces, the fund plays a vital role in building a stronger, more vibrant Wyoming County.
This year’s Community Fund grants were awarded to Stop the Hurt in Pineville and the Town of Oceana. Stop the Hurt will use the funds to create a more welcoming, child-friendly environment, while the Town of Oceana plans to install new metal benches at Gilliland Park, making it an even better space for families to gather and enjoy.
The Bingo event drew an impressive crowd of about 150 attendees, even with other major events happening the same evening, such as the Wyoming East Homecoming dance and the Oceana Chili Cook-Off. The Wyoming County EDA is grateful for the community’s unwavering support, which made this fundraiser a success.
Supporting the Wyoming County Community Fund is a meaningful way to invest in the county’s future. Every contribution helps fund projects that enrich lives, enhance public spaces, and foster growth.
