The Wyoming County Economic Development Authority is proud to help share that applications are now open for the 2026 Wyoming County Community Fund (WCCF) Scholarship Program. This opportunity is designed to support local residents in pursuing higher education and building a stronger future for themselves—and for Wyoming County.
Whether you are a graduating high school senior, an adult returning to school, or someone looking to advance your skills through technical training, this scholarship offers meaningful financial support to help you take the next step.
The WCCF Scholarship provides a total award of $2,500, distributed across two academic terms—$1,250 for Fall 2026 and $1,250 for Spring 2027. One scholarship will be awarded for the upcoming academic year, and funds must be used at either the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center or a college within the state of West Virginia.
This scholarship reflects the mission of the Wyoming County Community Fund: to create lasting opportunities for residents while investing in the long-term growth and success of the county. By supporting education, the program aims to empower individuals who are committed to making a difference right here at home.
The WCCF Scholarship is open to a wide range of applicants, including:
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (if applicable), demonstrate community involvement or work experience, and must not be on academic or legal probation. Recipients must enroll as full-time students and maintain a 2.5 GPA to receive the second semester award.
Applicants are required to submit a complete proposal, including a cover sheet, a typed narrative (up to three pages), and official transcripts or ABE scores. The narrative portion is especially important, as it gives applicants the opportunity to share their story, educational goals, and ideas for contributing to Wyoming County’s economy.
All applications must include one original and one copy and must be submitted or postmarked by 4:00 p.m. on April 1, 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. The review process may include a phone interview, and applicants can expect to be notified of the award within 4–8 weeks after the deadline.
The Wyoming County Community Fund is a long-term investment in the people of Wyoming County. Managed by the Beckley Area Foundation, the fund ensures sustainability by investing donations and distributing only the income generated—helping support educational opportunities for generations to come.
