Investing in Wyoming County’s Future: Celebrating 2026 Scholarship Recipient Braylee Warrix

The Wyoming County Economic Development Authority (EDA) is proud to recognize Braylee Warrix, a 2026 recipient of the Wyoming County Scholarship. Each year, this scholarship supports local students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to building a brighter future. Braylee embodies each of these qualities, making her a deserving recipient of this year’s award.

A graduate of Westside High School, Braylee has spent her high school years preparing for a career dedicated to serving others. Maintaining a 3.7 GPA while participating in athletics and healthcare training programs, she has consistently demonstrated the determination and work ethic needed to succeed in one of today’s most essential professions.

Braylee plans to attend the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center (WCTCTC) to pursue the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program. Her long-term goal is to become a Pediatric Registered Nurse, caring for children and supporting families during some of life’s most challenging moments. It is a career choice driven by compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in her community.

Throughout high school, Braylee has sought opportunities to build both leadership skills and healthcare experience. As captain of the volleyball team, she learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and encouraging others to reach their potential. Those leadership experiences have prepared her well for a future in nursing, where collaboration and compassion are essential every day.

Her passion for healthcare extends beyond the classroom. Braylee has completed phlebotomy training and is currently enrolled in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) coursework, allowing her to gain valuable hands-on experience working directly with patients. These experiences have confirmed her desire to pursue nursing while helping her develop the confidence and practical skills necessary for a successful healthcare career.

Receiving the Wyoming County Scholarship will help ease the financial burden of tuition, books, supplies, and other educational expenses. More importantly, it will allow Braylee to focus on gaining the education and clinical experience she needs to achieve her goals.

Braylee also understands the importance of giving back to the community that has supported her. She hopes to remain in the area, using her education to serve Wyoming County while helping address the growing need for skilled healthcare professionals. She believes that investing in local students strengthens the entire community by creating opportunities for young people to build meaningful careers close to home.

Her vision reflects the mission of the Wyoming County EDA. Economic development is about more than attracting businesses—it is also about investing in people.
